Cuddon Freeze Dry at the Food Innovation Showcase
Cuddon Freeze Dry are pleased to be part of the Food Innovation Showcase and welcome the chance to celebrate this show and the opening of the Manukau Innovation Centre that will allow businesses to access a Cuddon FD80LT Freeze Dryer for their own product development.
Visitors to the Cuddon stand (12) will see a static display of Cuddon freeze dry history in a walk through time displayed in some of our classic archived photos. In the background a compilation of early motion pictures taken by the founder Mr Gorton Cuddon is running to provide the atmosphere and anthology of a pioneering company steeped in engineering history.
Such was the legend that in 2005 the company commissioned a 70th year anniversary book titled ‘Innovation and Industry How Cuddon Engineering shaped Marlborough’.
Cuddon Limited from its pioneering history went on to create drying machine well ahead of its time and gave New Zealand companies, research organisations, and universities assess to Lyophilization technology designed specifically to suit their needs. Today Cuddon Freeze Dry exports to the world market and is sought after by name. Cuddon Limited is proud to be associated with so many New Zealand companies who have developed methods to freeze dried products that are leading the world in science and technology.

Visit Cuddon Freeze Dry at Foodpro Sydney – July 2011
Cuddon Freeze Dry will be exhibiting at Foodpro at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre from 10 – 13 July 2011.
This is an Australasian food processing exhibition held every three years, and attracts over 8,000 food manufacturers and industry professionals from Australia and New Zealand.
We will be displaying a Cuddon FD80 Freeze Dryer at the show. Come and see us on Stand S16.

Meet Cuddon Freeze Dry at Foodtech Packtech Auckland – Oct 2010
Cuddon Freeze Dry will be exhibiting at Foodtech Packtech at the ASB Showground in Auckland from 12 – 14 October 2010.
Held every two years, this is New Zealand's leading event for the food and packaging technology industries, attracting over 3,000 food processing and manufacturing professionals.
We will be displaying a Cuddon FD80 Freeze Dryer at the show. Entry to the exhibition is free so come and see us on Stand 2135.

Tradeshow Success at Process Expo Chicago – July 2010
Cuddon Freeze Dry recently exhibited at Process Expo 2010 in Chicago, attended by over 10,000 food processing and manufacturing industry professionals from across the US and more than 75 countries. The show was a great success, with strong leads generated for our freeze dryers across a wide range of applications inlcuding meat, fruit and vegetable flavouring, health food, dairy and laboratory research.
We've exhibited at Process Expo a number of times and have always obtained good feedback and interest in our freeze drying machines. As long time members of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) we found this year's exhibition combined with the Institute of food technologists (IFT) to be of exceptional value with greater interest from the nutritional and food science sectors.
We also find tradeshows are a great way to meet up with agents and suppliers, especially as we have freeze dry distribution partners across the globe.
Cuddon Wins Innovation Award
Cuddon Limited, trading as Cuddon Freeze Dry, was recently awarded the NZ Metals Industry Innovation Award for 2006.
This accolade was reward for a commitment to innovation in the design and manufacture of the continuous belt spray freeze dryer.
John Cuddon, Sales Director, received the award on behalf of the company at the HERA Conference in Hamilton, New Zealand, in November. Cuddon said 'Our team has worked tirelessly over the past few years to advance this technology, which is great for our company but also for the freeze drying industry as a whole'.
The first production model of the continuous belt spray freeze dryer is expected to be completed in 2007.
Cuddon Freeze Dry Move with Technology Developments
Cuddon Freeze Dry, the New Zealand based manufacturer of batch and continuous freeze drying machinery, have recently completed an upgrade to include a fully automated operating and control system into their range of freeze dryers.
An OMRON PLC is connected to a 10" OMRON touchscreen control system, allowing the operator complete control on one screen, literally at the touch of a button. With programming capacity for 15 recipes, each with 15 steps, data storage for over 250 cycles and software to allow analysis of historic data, the newly adopted system offers both flexibility and information for cycle development.
Steve Anderson, Business Development Manager of Cuddon Freeze Dry, said the changes were a result of customer feedback the need to align its freeze dryers more closely with technology as it emerged. "The simplicity of our old manual operating system was well received in the market, because it was so easy to understand, but computerised technology is now widely used across all sectors and markets so the time was right to upgrade to an automated system".
Whilst the new system is far more advanced, the simplistic graphic interface remains user-friendly. "User-friendliness is at the forefront of everything we do, and this system is no different", said Anderson .
Other features of the system include external alarm device settings, and remote operating facilities that enable engineers to monitor the equipment from anywhere in the world.
Cuddon Freeze Dry and Biopharma Process Systems Sign Agreement
Terms have been agreed for Biopharma Process Systems to represent Cuddon Freeze Dry in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Steve Anderson, Business Development Manager at Cuddon Freeze Dry, says Cuddon are excited about this collaboration. "Biopharma are one the leading company's in the world when it comes to freeze-drying knowledge and expertise. Our dealings to date have shown Biopharma to be very proactive so we're looking forward to establishing a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship."
Biopharma Process Systems is a leading provider of processing equipment, providing systems primarily to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cosmetic and food industries although Biopharma's customer base extends to the academic field, R&D establishments, laboratories, medical and engineering materials research.

Cuddon Limited Reaches Finals of 2005 NZTE Export Awards
Cuddon Limited was recently named as a finalist in the prestigious 2005 New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Export Awards. Twenty-one companies across the industry spectrum and ranging from enterprises earning more than NZ$200 million annually in exports to small, entrepreneurial software developers were named as finalists.
The New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Export Awards recognise outstanding achievement and growth by New Zealand exporters across a range of sectors. Finalists become contenders for each category Export Award and they then vie for the 2005 DHL Supreme Exporter of the Year.
Andy Rowe, CEO, said that the process of entering the awards was well worth the effort, giving the company a good opportunity to benchmark itself against other major exporters. "It was certainly a positive experience. It's great to be recognised for success, and the process has given us some good pointers as to where we can make improvements."
